What is PNR Status?
PNR (Passenger Name Record) is a unique 10-digit number assigned by Indian Railways when you book a train ticket through IRCTC or at a railway counter. This number is your ticket's identity and is used to track the reservation status of your journey.
Checking your PNR status tells you whether your ticket is Confirmed (CNF), Waitlisted (WL), or on Reservation Against Cancellation (RAC). It also shows your coach number, berth number, and other journey details.

When is PNR Chart Prepared?
The final reservation chart is usually prepared 4-6 hours before departure. After chart preparation, your PNR status becomes final. If your ticket is still on the waitlist after chart preparation, it gets automatically cancelled and the refund is processed.
