PNR നമ്പർ എന്താണ്?

PNR (Passenger Name Record) is a unique 10-digit number assigned by Indian Railways when you book a train ticket through IRCTC or at a railway counter. This number is your ticket's identity and is used to track the reservation status of your journey.

Checking your PNR status tells you whether your ticket is Confirmed (CNF), Waitlisted (WL), or on Reservation Against Cancellation (RAC). It also shows your coach number, berth number, and other journey details.

How to Check PNR Status

  1. 1 Find your 10-digit PNR number on your ticket or IRCTC booking confirmation.
  2. 2 Enter the PNR number in the search box above.
  3. 3 Click "Check" to get the latest reservation status.

Understanding PNR Status Codes

CNF Your berth is confirmed. You have a guaranteed seat.
RAC You can board the train and will share a berth. If someone cancels, you get a full berth.
WL No berth allocated yet. Your ticket may get confirmed if others cancel.
RLWL Waitlist for intermediate stations.
GNWL Regular waitlist from the originating station.
PQWL Waitlist for smaller intermediate stations.

When is PNR Chart Prepared?

The final reservation chart is usually prepared 4-6 hours before departure. After chart preparation, your PNR status becomes final. If your ticket is still on the waitlist after chart preparation, it gets automatically cancelled and the refund is processed.
